Putting Dragons to Sleep*
|
A fisherman traveled further and further away from home in order to gather a greater amount of fish. After the last catch, he realized that in order to feed his family and support the village, more than fish sold at the market was needed. The fisherman bought a larger boat and hired a strong, skillful crew. Although worries abounded during the treacherous voyage, he comforted the group with his guitar and a ballad he would sing to his children every night. I put my dragons to sleep, just my harp and me, right by the sea. I sail, sail away… far, far away… Ever so bravely Ever so merrily Far, far, far away I sail to a land of gold A land of gold and silk Ever so readily Ever so quickly Far, far, far away Quiet my fears, put dragons to sleep… Just my Harp and Me, Right by the sea. |
