Exhibitions & Artist Bio
Living in many different places - California, Oregon, St.Croix, St. Thomas, Nevada, and now Madison, WI - has aided in my choice of topics. Each piece is an artistic perspective of my childhood and the life experiences I continue to gain. I was inspired to start painting in my teenage years when I observed my grandmother's sketches and my Uncle Mark Sabino’s art career and heard of one of my family members designing the St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands flag. These artistic connections have helped shape my ambitions to bond with the art communities wherever I reside.
I am a self-taught artist who was born in San Jose, California. Throughout my art career, I have focused on creating purposeful and thought-provoking artwork, with a mindful and aesthetically designed approach, whether humorous or calming.
Some events in my life are covered in my artwork in such a manner. The mediums I use the most in my pieces are acrylic on canvas, driftwood, repurposed glass, and drywall mud. Using different materials allows me to express specific topics more effectively.
